Cancún 2015 Exploratory Workshop
On 16 October 2015 WISC and the “Mexican International Studies Association” (MISA) organized a one-day workshop on “The Current State and Future of IR Studies in the Global South” in the context of the Annual MISA Conference 2015 in Cancun, Mexico. A joint “Call for Papers” was issued and eleven applications for participation were received from scholars from around the world. Six were jointly selected.
The Workshop generated several ideas for how to pursue additional projects for intensifying intellectual collaboration between IR scholars in the “Global South” and the “Global North”. Besides the official report two participants, Jessica De Alba-Ulloa and Ralf Leiteritz, volunteered to share their “personal summaries” of the workshop.
